As part of the Internship Program, the interns under the guidance of Librarian Ms. Sanam Das visited K.K. Handique Library, Gauhati University, to gain broader exposure and hands-on learning experiences.
The Internship Program began with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. Satyendra Nath Barman, who greeted students from different colleges and encouraged them to make the most of the training opportunity.
The Hem Barua Library, B. Borooah College (Autonomous) observed National Librarians’ Day on 12th August to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. The program highlighted the invaluable contributions of librarians in promoting knowledge, information access, and lifelong learning. Dr. Jagadindra Raychoudhury graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the students with his insightful words. Faculty members, staff, and students actively participated in the event, making it a meaningful occasion to acknowledge the role of libraries and librarians in academic and social development.
The Internship Program was organized at Hem Barua Library, B. Borooah College (Autonomous) from 2nd July 2025 to 24th July 2025. A total of 23 students from different colleges participated as part of their FYUGP Internship Program (4 Credits). During the program, students were provided training on the theories of Library and Information Science, library operations, and digital resources. In addition, they were taken on an educational visit to the K.K. Handique Library, Gauhati University, to gain wider exposure and practical learning experiences.
